Poor Comical England

A game many thought would have been an entertaining one, a Croatia side who have never lost a competitive match on home soil, and an England side looking to prove critics wrong after a lacklustre display against Macedonia in Old Trafford. One soft goal and another comical own goal summed up the whole disappointing evening and the first England defeat under Steve McLaren.

I purposely slept early last night just to catch this game. And guess what, I went back to sleep after the second Croatia goal, even before the match ended, swearing and cursing at how poor England were made to look.

The game left me wondering, are England world class or not? Well sincerely I think they are still a force to be reckoned. The major issue for the England team is the collective loss of form. Over the last half-dozen games, it would be difficult to name one maybe two players who have played to their ability for England.

I just hope England can wake up and buck up. It's still a long road ahead towards Euro2008. Come on Three Lions!

for me, i think i should be one of the member for the football focus panel shown every week. For me, england... just too much expectation towards them... nobody care about other country like trinidad & tobago when they made it to WC 2006. or Tongo. So u can actually compare England to our Malaysian badminton team, all big headed thinking they r stars, they r favourite and in the end everyone frustrated cos they not doing well. tis is my 2cents
